Tips/Tricks

Sea King Ultra®

"For When It's On The Line!"

Sea King Ultra® enables the fishermen to feel every pull and tug, even with the lightest fish on. With very little stretch, it is not necessary to rear back to set the hook.

Loosen the drag setting on your reel, Sea King Ultra® has a maximum stretch of 3.3%. Loosening the drag will help absorb those severe strikes and hits of that trophy fish.

Here are some other tips used to maximize the Sea King Ultra®  fishing experience:

Spooling
When spooling Ultra on your favorite reel, be sure to wind under constant tension.  To keep proper tension on your reel, after every 12 hours of fishing, let your line all the way out and rewind it under tension to keep it taunt. Make sure not to touch or pinch the line as you are spooling so as not to cause undue strain on the twist of the line.

Casting and Trolling
Due to the small diameter and lightweight characteristics of Ultra line, professional casts will be obtained by the novice fishermen as well as the pro. When trolling with Ultra line, be sure to set your drag a little looser, and use a rubber snubber to help absorb the instant shock when the fish hits.

Cutting Ultra Line
Ultra fishing line is very slippery and hard to cut. A sharp knife or scissors is needed to cut the line.  Do not try to break the line by wrapping it around your hand! Serious injury will result!

Knots That Work Best
Sea King Ultra® fishing line is very slippery and has a tendency to slip and slide. Several knots have been tested and the following work best for attaching your hook to Ultra Sea King® line: Palomar Knot, Uni-Knot
